How to Hide Applications on an Android Phone
Users were able to hide applications on an Android phone without any problem but it was before the ability to hide app was removed. This changed happened when they upgraded from Jelly Bean to Kit Kat. Android users cannot hide apps appearing in their drawers using the build-in method. Now you and other users like you have two ways either disable the app or tuck the app in built-in drawer.
Disabling an App
Open the app drawer by simply touching the app drawer. In this way you can see all the apps you have installed on your phone. You cannot find any built-in feature in Kit Kat allowing you to hide app drawer apps.
Simple tap the menu button → “Uninstall/disable apps”. The menu option can be see when the menu is opened the Android app drawer.
You should see “-” icon next to all the apps you want to disable. Remember disabling an app that is important to ensure the smooth functioning of the phone will not be possible.
In order to exit the “Uninstall/Disable Apps” feature, simply touch the back button. You will be happy to know that you will find not any threat to your application drawer.
Using the App Drawer
First of all you need to find the app you want to hide. You can also clean up your home screen by simply tucking any installed app into the app drawer.
Long press the icon you wish to hide. You will be shown a bunch options for the app icon such as moving it to another home screen page.
You should see a “trashcan icon”. Now you can hide the icon whenever you want to. You can use the app anytime as the apps will be available in the app drawer.
Hiding the app is possible if you haven’t updated to Kit Kat.
You can also enable the apps you disabled earlier. Simply go to App Drawer→ tap the menu button → Show Disabled Apps. Simply check the box next to a disabled app to re-enable it.
